Sustainability and supply chain
This garment was made from Modal ™ , a 100% biodegradable and recyclable material.
THE RAW MATERIAL, WOOD
The Modal™ fibres used in this garment come from wood pulp from PEFC and FSC® certified forests (for sustainable forest management). The supply chain comes from beech and other tree plantations in the European Union. The raw material is then supplied to Lenzing – the manufacturer of Modal™ – in accordance with the highest standards. Modal™ is a registered trademark of the Lenzing company, which launched this material on the market according to its own social and environmental standards.

THE MODAL™ SUPPLIER
Avani uses only premium Modal™ fibers manufactured by Lenzing AG. Lenzing is a specialist supplier of sustainable fiber-derived materials. For over 80 years, Lenzing’s solutions have been helping to protect the planet.
Lenzing Modal™ fibers are very similar to Tencel™ in their production process. They are produced from a closed-loop transformation process that uses a non-natural but non-toxic solvent and water. It contributes to the circular economy in the textile industry because the solvent is recycled 95% and the water 100%. In the case of Modal™, the recovered solvent is reused in other industries, while the solvent used for Tencel™ is reinjected into its own manufacturing process. The use of resources and energy is reduced to a minimum, while recycling and reusing as much as possible.

THE FABRIC SUPPLIER
Once the pulp is transformed into fibres, the yarn is then knitted and dyed by the company Tintex (PT) to make fabric. Tintex is a world leader in the production of knitted fabrics and optimised solutions for high-quality natural textiles. The company develops sustainable solutions throughout the production process and ensures transparent and traceable supply chains. Through its partnership with the Lenzing Group, Tintex ensures Avani fabrics made from Modal™ fibres of the highest quality.
The fabric that makes up this garment is OEKO-TEX® 100 certified, a label that guarantees that at each stage of processing, it does not contain nickel and other products that are toxic to humans and the environment.
