What is viscose?
Viscose is a textile fibre made from cellulose, generally obtained from wood. This plant-based raw material is processed to create a soft fibre that can then be spun and used to produce a wide variety of fabrics.

Viscose and EcoVero™: what is the difference?
Not all viscose is produced in the same way. This is one of the reasons why Avani uses LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose for selected styles.
Like conventional viscose, EcoVero™ is a wood-based cellulosic fibre. The difference lies particularly in the sourcing of its raw materials and the way the fibre is manufactured.
According to Lenzing, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibres are produced with at least 50% lower carbon emissions and water consumption compared with generic viscose during fibre production. The wood used also comes from certified or controlled sources.
At the same time, the fibre retains the characteristics for which viscose is appreciated, including softness, lightness and a fluid drape.

A fabric made for prints and flowing silhouettes
