Sustainability and supply chain
This garment was made from Tencel™, a 100% biodegradable and recyclable material.
THE RAW MATERIAL, WOOD
The Tencel™ fibers used in this garment come from wood pulp sourced from PEFC and FSC® (sustainably managed forests) certified forests. The supply chain comes from plantations of eucalyptus and other fast-growing tree species in the European Union mainly. The raw material is then supplied to Lenzing – the manufacturer of Tencel™ – in compliance with strict standards. Tencel™ is Lenzing’s trademark to market lyocell fiber according to their own social and environmental standards.

THE SUPPLIER OF TENCEL™
Avani uses only top-quality Tencel™ fibers manufactured by Lenzing AG. The Lenzing Group is a specialist of materials derived from sustainable wood fibers. For over 80 years, Lenzing solutions have been helping to protect the planet.
Lenzing’s Tencel™ fibers are produced using a closed-loop production process that uses only a natural solvent and water. This contributes to the circular economy in the textile industry, as the solvent is 99% recycled and the water 100% in order to be reused in the production of new Tencel™ fibers. The use of resources and energy is reduced to a minimum, while recycling and reusing as much as possible. What’s more, Tencel™ fibers use 20 times less water than cotton fibers, and yield 10 times more.

The company develops sustainable solutions throughout the production process and guarantees transparent, traceable supply chains. Thanks to its partnership with the Lenzing Group, Dobert provides Avani with top-quality Tencel™ fabrics.
The fabric used for this garment is certified OEKO-TEX® 100, a label that guarantees that at every stage of the process, it is free from nickel and other products that are toxic to humans and the environment.
