Sustainability and supply chain
This garment was made from Tencel ™ , a 100% biodegradable and recyclable material.
THE RAW MATERIAL, WOOD
The Tencel™ fibers used in this garment are sourced from wood pulp from PEFC and FSC® certified forests (for sustainable forest management). The supply chain originates primarily from eucalyptus plantations and other fast-growing tree species within the European Union. The raw material is then delivered to Lenzing – the manufacturer of Tencel™ – in accordance with the strictest standards. Tencel™ is Lenzing's registered trademark for marketing lyocell fiber according to their own social and environmental standards.

THE SUPPLIER OF TENCEL ™
Avani uses only premium Tencel™ fibers manufactured by the Lenzing AG Group. The Lenzing Group is a specialist supplier in the development of sustainable fiber-based materials. For over 80 years, Lenzing's solutions have contributed to protecting the planet.
Lenzing's Tencel™ fibers are produced using a closed-loop transformation process that employs only a natural solvent and water. This contributes to the circular economy within the textile industry, as 99% of the solvent and 100% of the water are recycled and reused to produce new Tencel™ fibers. Resource and energy use are minimized while maximizing recycling and reuse. Furthermore, Tencel™ fibers use 20 times less water than cotton fibers for a yield 10 times greater.

Once the pulp is transformed into fibers, the yarn is then woven and dyed by Dobert (ES) to create fabric. Dobert is a global leader in the production of high-quality, responsibly woven textiles. The company develops sustainable solutions throughout the production process and guarantees transparent and traceable supply chains. Through its partnership with the Lenzing Group, Dobert provides Avani with fabrics made from the highest quality Tencel™ fibers.
The fabric that makes up this garment is OEKO-TEX® 100 certified, a label which guarantees that at each stage of processing, it does not contain nickel and other products toxic to humans and the environment.
